Through children’s eyes
The long awaited holidays are finally here! The days are getting longer, time is ticking by more slowly. Our hectic lives will be back again before we know it, so let’s enjoy our downtime while we can. Sleep, play, go with the flow… Slow down. Our children are better at this than we are. Summer’s here, so turn down the volume: take the time to watch them, enjoy them (and how they behave), and recover!

# Learn to take your own sweet time
Step 1.
A holiday’s not a holiday without a lie-in.
There’s no rush, you can enjoy lazing around in bed with a book, watching the kids curl up naturally and marvelling at how much they’ve grown in a year. You can slow down, you’ve got all day. Bliss…
# Learn to get organised
Step 2.
You can’t have a good holiday without a little organisation. You can push the bed to one side and learn how to do cartwheels, the sofa will become the circus ring and you can put away the ornaments and bring out the toys. Learn to share your space and give up trying to automatically tidy things up all the time. It’s the perfect time to let go…

# Learn to find yourself
Step 3.
Spend some time together reading the books you enjoyed as a child or some new fantastical tales. Forget about time and to-do lists, just live your life to the slow rhythm of giggles, cuddles and sweeties. And if you’re really good, I’ll tell you a secret.
# Learn to explore...
Step 4.
Be adventurous, it’s now or never. Reinvent yourself, roll up your sleeves, it’s time to learn new things and get involved in all kinds of whacky competitions. Because, you know, I really want to grow up this summer.

# Learn to be bored
Step 5…
and perhaps the most important…
(Re)discover the joy of having nothing to do. Knowing how to marvel at a raindrop on the kitchen window, when time seems to pass sooooo slowly… Relishing boredom, simply for the pleasure of allowing your thoughts to flow freely, leaving room for the imagination. Sometimes the holidays seem to stretch out forever, but that’s also when marvellous memories are made.
Let’s take the time to enjoy them…
