Solid mindi: elegant, visually appealing and solid

As specialists in premium, artisanally produced solid wooden furniture, we take great care to ensure the quality of the pieces we offer. The woods we select retain the nobility of the tree and its living beauty. Each variety of wood selected has its own unique features.

The mindi we use comes from Indonesian plantations. It is also known as Chinaberry or white cedar wood, and is sometimes spelled mindy. This exotic wood is less well known than teak or mahogany, but it is a robust tree whose light-coloured wood is used to create beautiful designer furniture. Easy to work with, it has gained an important place in cabinetmaking, producing authentic and robust furniture. Although mindi is mostly light in colour, it can sometimes show reddish tones like the heartwood.

Visually appealing

Visually appealing

A light colour, a straight grain and bright reflections: mindi is easily polished for a gleaming result. It has a smooth, knot-free fibre with slight graining. Its pale colours, from sand to dark blond, allow for many decorative interpretations.

Resistant

Resistant

Perhaps a little less resistant than oak, teak or acacia, mindi furniture is nevertheless remarkable for its resistance to everyday life and its longevity. Naturally rich in oil, it is not susceptible to shrinkage and distortion during cabinet making.

Naturally rich in oil, mindi requires less maintenance than some woods.

Mindi is particularly valued in contemporary settings, notably in Scandinavian-style interiors. Its blond colour and the discreet charm of its elegant veining allow for all kinds of stylistic combinations.
