Each plank of wood stores CO2 that has been sequestered by the tree through photosynthesis. Our aim is to ensure that carbon remains stored for as long as possible.

Responsible purchasing – FSC® certification
It is crucial that we preserve forests because they play a vital role in absorbing carbon from the atmosphere and providing habitats for biodiversity, and many communities around the world depend on their resources. The FSC® certification ensures that the solid wood we use for our products comes from responsibly managed forests. It guarantees that the forests are managed in a way that protects biodiversity and that is socially and economically beneficial to local communities. The silvicultural practices used are designed to preserve the diversity of flora and fauna and enable forests to be conserved over the long term.
In 2023, 55% of our solid-wood products were FSC®-certified.
Repairability - Preserving wood: furniture for future generations
Unlike synthetic materials or composites, solid wood is strong and durable. It can stand the test of time – it can endure daily wear and tear without losing its beauty. If furniture can be repaired, it lasts for longer and preserves the resources that are needed to produce it. Buying new furniture requires new materials, which in turn consumes energy and natural resources. Therefore by choosing to repair your furniture, rather than buying new pieces, you are reducing energy consumption and helping to preserve natural resources.
Renunciations
In order to offer you strong, repairable products that stand the test of time, we have chosen to use solid wood. There are also a number of materials we now refuse to use in our products. We no longer use MDF (Medium-density fibreboard), which is much harder to repair than solid wood.
Going beyond the EU REACH regulation
In Europe, we are subject to REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) regulation. REACH aims to protect human health and the environment from the risks associated with chemical substances.
In order to offer you safe products, we go even further than these regulations and ban the use of any potentially harmful substances in our products.
Textiles: OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification
The OEKO-TEX certification applies to textile products. The textile industry is one of the most polluting. It uses processes that pollute the soil and impact water quality, leading to the degradation of ecosystems and therefore biodiversity.
We use OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified fabric for our seating and rugs. This guarantees that the textiles or products used during the manufacturing process are safe for people (workers or consumers) and the environment. The certification aims to ensure that raw materials or finished products do not contain any harmful substances.
